my very first blog post & 30 things before 30 :o)

I've been meaning to start a blog for quite some time.  Actually I've wanted to do something like this since highschool when I learned about blogger.  I browse, browse and browse art/design/craft/recipe sites and realize what a genius idea!  It catalogs all these ideas with a copious amount of inspiration and information.  Finally I'd like to sit here and do just that and if I can put a smile on someone's face with the ideas and inspiration I share, then it is a win!  I want to share ideas, either mine or that I find of interior design, graphic design, art, crafting, recipes, etc.

I'm also going to kick off this post with great idea that I found months ago on someone's blog while looking for interior decorating inspiration.

I have 5 months left to complete the things on this list which doesn't give me much time.  I'll just mark them off as I go.  Since I waited so long to start I figure I'll simply just add one more thing to my list when I do turn 30.  That way I'll have one more year to finish!

In no particular order, 30 before 30:
  1. Get more organized.
  2. Start a blog with my passions in life.
  3. Get more cardio into my routine on the weekly.
  4. Finish the redesign of my graphic design portfolio.
  5. Compile the necessities to start some type of freelance gig.
  6. Refinish kitchen cabinets.
  7. Organize garage (this is essential since we always need things from there and can never find it, this often turns me into one angry beaver).
  8. Refinish nightstand (long overdo).
  9. Donate toiletries to Rescue Mission, this is long overdo.
  10. Re-caulk both bathtubs for a fresher look.
  11. Warm up the front of the exterior of the house for a little bit of curb appeal.
  12. Try to focus more and focus on tasks at hand, it is such a challenge for me.
  13. Organize the computer room and make it more appealing to work in.
  14. Create more art, I need to do this especially to add some pizazz to my walls.
  15. Finish unfinished crafts, projects.
  16. Create custom pegboard storage for my 3 yr. old's play area. (link to tutorial to follow soon)
  17. Be more outdoorsy.
  18. Learn more adobe cs tutorials.
  19. Learn Macromedia flash.
  20. Make chocolate chip cookies from scratch.
  21. Go on a  road trip.
  22. Paint most of the inside of the house.
  23. Find a cute nightstand for my son's room for a tiny fish tank, which I'm still debating getting or not.
  24. Not sweat the small stuff so much.
  25. Figure whether or not I want to go back to school.
  26. Work more with typography.
  27. Do more crafts/art with magazines and newspapers.
  28. Make fresh spring rolls from scratch.
  29. Go downtown & sit and drink a cocktail while listening to a Jazz band.
  30. Make it to any of the kitschy stores in my city, especially to see some mid-century modern furniture!
